The Glimmers Facilitator’s Card Deck includes 24 distinct cards with a person, place, or thing with a corresponding description on one side of the card, and potential Glimmers identified by others on the other side of the card.
These examples are intended to support a strengths-based approach to identifying glimmers in the scene cards. Glimmers may include strengths, resources, connections, knowledge, capacities, and opportunities that are present in a situation. Consider looking beyond the most obvious glimmers to strengthen your ability to notice strengths and possibilities across different situations. Identifying glimmers is not intended to erase or downplay challenges, harms, or barriers, but to broaden what we notice. There is no ‘right’ answer and participants are encouraged to identify different glimmers. For language identified in red on Scene Cards, refer to the Language Prompter for suggested non-stigmatizing alternatives and reframing.
